- pH adjusters — typically sodium carbonate, which helps your body absorb the nicotine.
What's not in them
- No tobacco. Nothing to stain teeth the way tobacco snus does.
- No smoke or vapour — nothing is burned or heated, so there's no second-hand exposure.
- No spitting. The pouch stays sealed and intact in your mouth.
Does that make ZYN safe?
No nicotine product is risk-free. Removing tobacco and combustion removes a great deal, but nicotine itself remains addictive and has real effects on the body — raised heart rate and blood pressure among them. ZYN is intended for adults who already use nicotine, not for people who don't.
