How it works

  1. Pay 25% at checkout. Choose PayFlex as your payment method and pay the first quarter by card.
  2. We ship straight away. Your order is packed and sent like any other. You don't wait until it's paid off.
  3. Pay the rest over 6 weeks. Three more equal payments come off your card automatically, one every 2 weeks.

Can I use PayFlex?

You'll need:

  • To be 18 or older (you have to be to shop with us anyway)
  • A South African ID number
  • A Visa, Mastercard or American Express card (debit or credit) that works for online payments
  • A South African cellphone number and an email address
  • A good credit record. PayFlex runs a quick credit check when you sign up
  • Your phone's camera, for a quick selfie check against your Home Affairs photo

First time? Sign up at checkout

There's nothing to do before you shop. You create your PayFlex account during checkout, and it takes about 2 minutes.

  1. Add your items to the cart and check out. Fill in your delivery details as usual.
  2. Choose PayFlex at the payment step, then tap to complete your order. You'll be taken to PayFlex's secure page.
  3. Create your account. Enter your name, email address, cellphone number and SA ID number, then type in the one-time PIN (OTP) PayFlex sends you by SMS.
  4. Take a quick selfie. PayFlex matches it to your Home Affairs photo to confirm it's really you. No documents to upload.
  5. Get your answer in seconds. PayFlex does a real-time credit check and shows how much you can spend.
  6. Check your payment dates, add your card and pay the first 25%. Your bank may ask you to approve it in your banking app.
  7. Done. You're sent back to us with your order confirmed, and it ships like any other order.

Check the dates before you confirm: PayFlex can't move them afterwards. You can always pay early.

Already have PayFlex?

Choose PayFlex at checkout, log in with your email and password, confirm the plan and pay the first instalment. That's it. You can use your PayFlex account at thousands of other South African shops too.

After you've ordered

  • Your paymentsThe remaining 3 payments come off the card you used, every 2 weeks from your order date. PayFlex usually collects after 10:00 on the day.
  • Pay earlyLog in to the PayFlex app or customer portal to pay the next instalment, or the whole balance, whenever you like. Instant EFT works too.
  • Change your cardMake an early payment with the new card in the PayFlex app. The rest of that order's payments then come off the new card.
  • Returns & refundsReturn to us as normal. When we refund, PayFlex cancels or reduces your remaining payments. If the refund is more than you've paid so far, the difference goes to your PayFlex Wallet, and you can withdraw it to your bank account.

Questions

Does PayFlex cost anything?

No. There's no interest and no fees as long as you pay on time. We pay PayFlex a fee for each order, not you.

What if I miss a payment?

PayFlex tries again the next day. If it still can't collect, it charges a late fee of R95, and again on day 7 and day 14 if the payment is still outstanding. Late fees are capped at R285 or half your order value, whichever is lower. Pay it as soon as you can in the PayFlex app to avoid more fees.

Why was my PayFlex application declined?

PayFlex needs a good credit record with no judgements or adverse listings. If you think it's a mistake, contact PayFlex support. In the meantime you can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Instant EFT.

The selfie check won't go through

If you still have a green ID book, Home Affairs may not have a recent photo to match. Updating to a Smart ID card fixes it. If you have a Smart ID and it still fails, contact PayFlex support.

My first payment is more than 25%. Why?

If your order is bigger than your PayFlex spend limit, the first payment covers the difference. Your limit can go up over time as you pay on time.

Can I use PayFlex on pre-orders?

Yes. Your payments start from the day you order, and the pre-order ships when the stock arrives, as normal.

Who do I contact?

About your PayFlex account (payments, cards, your limit): PayFlex support, Mon–Fri 08:30–17:00 and weekends 09:00–15:00.
