The AirsPops XL is the one Airscream device that runs both sealed prefilled pods and a refillable pod you fill yourself. Here is how to set it up, and how to decide which way to run it.
What the AirsPops XL is
The XL is the most flexible device Airscream makes: it runs either sealed prefilled pods or a refillable pod you fill yourself. Same battery, same device โ you choose the trade-off between convenience and running cost, and you can change your mind later.
- XL Prefilled Pod 10ml โ click in, vape, replace. Nothing to fill or prime.
- XL Refillable Pod 6ml โ fill with any e-liquid; far cheaper per ml.
Setting it up
- Charge it fully first over USB-C. Use a phone charger or laptop port, not a fast-charge brick.
- Fit a pod. It seats magnetically and only goes in one way.
- Prefilled? You're done โ inhale. Refillable? Fill it, then wait.
Filling the refillable pod
- Pull the pod out, open the fill plug on the side.
- Fill slowly to just under the max line. The pod needs an air gap.
- Seal the plug flush.
- Stand it upright for 5โ10 minutes. The wick must soak before the first draw or the coil burns instantly.
Both 313 AirsPops 1.9% and 4.0% suit it. There's a refillable pod + e-liquid bundle if you'd rather not buy the pieces separately.
Prefilled or refillable โ which should you use?
Prefilled if you value simplicity: no bottles, no priming, no coil judgement, and the flavour is exactly as intended. You pay more per ml and you're limited to the pod flavours.
Refillable if you vape daily: the cost per ml drops sharply and the whole e-liquid range opens up. It asks for two minutes of filling every day or two.
Most people coming off disposables start prefilled and move across once they've settled on a flavour. That's exactly what the XL is built for.
Getting the most out of it
- Steady draws. Sharp pulls flood the coil and cause spitting or gurgling.
- Don't run a refillable pod dry โ top up once the liquid drops below the coil window.
- Store upright and out of direct sun; heat thins liquid and encourages leaking.
- Wipe the contacts occasionally to clear condensation.
- Charge before it dies completely rather than running it flat every time.
Troubleshooting
- No vapour โ reseat the pod, clean the contacts, check the charge.
- Burnt taste โ an unprimed or spent coil. On a prefilled pod, that pod is done; on a refillable, replace the pod or coil.
- Leaking or gurgling โ overfilled, or stored on its side. Empty, wipe the airway, refill under the line.
- Flavour faded โ the coil is at end of life, which is normal wear rather than a fault.
